Chefs are working hard year round to attract customers. During March 1-10, Maine chefs will be going above-and-beyond, by offering three-course dinners at special low prices. Depending on the restaurant, Restaurant Week 2010 prices are 20.10, 30.10 or 40.10. Also during Restaurant Week some participating restaurants will serve prix fixe lunches for 15.10. Beverages, taxes and tips are not included. Every Maine restaurant is invited to participate, but not all do. Before heading out for dinner during Restaurant Week, check the list of participating restaurants. Reservations are strongly suggested.

Denny Laine of The Moody Blues and Paul McCartney and Wings and Terry Sylvester formerly of The Hollies will perform at Venue Music Bar and Bistro in Freeport. Tickets are $30 per person. They’ll be performing their ” Abbey Road Memories” featureing a complete performance of the Beatles’ classic album, as well as other songs recorded at Abbey Road Studios from the likes of The Zombies, Manfred Mann, Peter and Gordon, Badfinger, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Stealer’s Wheel and more. Of course each artist plays their own hits in the show as well-so expect The Hollies’ “Bus Stop”, “He Ain’t Heavy” , “Carrie Anne”, and “Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress” as well a the classic Denny Laine lead on the Moody Blues smash “Go Now” as well as Wings smashes such as “Time to Hide”, “Live and Let Die”, and “Band on the Run”. St. Patrick's Day Parade

The parade will start at Noon from the Portland Fish Pier on Commercial Street and progress to the Maine State Pier.
Harlem Superstars

Where: Ada Cram Wadsworth Arena, Fryeburg Academy
Time: 6:30 p.m.
The Harlem Superstars comedic basketball team is back to play against the Fryeburg Dream Team, which includes teachers and staff from Fryeburg Academy. The Harlem Superstars will also entertain the audience with their slam dunk skills and funny pranks. Advanced tickets are $7, tickets at the door will be $9.

Great Portland Bike Swap
When: Sunday, April 25th
Where: Sullivan Gym, University of Southern Maine, Portland
Time: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Hundreds of affordable, used bicycles will be for sale, including mountain bikes, road bikes, classic cruisers, kids' bikes and hybrids. A large testing area will be available to allow shoppers to try out the bikes. Volunteer advisors will be on hand to help with pricing and bike fit. Admission is $3, with free admission for students at USM, UNE, SMCC and the University of Maine as well as children 12 and under.
Everything you need under one roof! Children's events include finger printing with local police, face painting and more. For adults: presentation on investments, getting your business online/social media topics and average consumer tips for going green and green products. Hors d'oeuvres will be passed and there will snacks for both adults and children. Raffles every hour for children and adults. Perishable food donations will be collected at the door.
